MapMyTour.com becomes TrackMyTour.com
Last updated April 9th, 2009 by chrisI’ve been threatened with legal action from another MapMy____.com website for an apparent trademark infringement. I disagree with their assertions, but this left me with the choice of defending myself or changing the name. I chose the later since MapMyTour is non-profit and a personal project, and I don’t have the time, money, or care to challenge it.
The website transition is complete and any request to mapmytour.com will automatically forward to trackmytour.com. Your login and password are the same and all versions of the iPhone application should work fine. I’ll soon be releasing a rebranded iPhone app, which will also have some new features. Please let me know if you find any problems.
I just wanted to say thanks…I just returned from two weeks of the Great American Road Trip (including Route 66, of course), and this app completely made the trip. Looking back on our course now is priceless.
I am shocked that this is being done by “a guy with a blog” and not some full-fledged VC-invested company…it seems you’re on to a big deal here…
Thanks again…and feel free to use our trip (#217) for any promo/marketing you choose…we put it to great use.
